Gold Cura RVG Sensor Sleeves are transparent, single-use barrier covers for digital intraoral dental X-ray sensors. Each sleeve creates a physical barrier between the sensor and the patient’s oral tissues during radiography, helping limit direct contact with saliva and other oral fluids while keeping the sensor visible for positioning.

The sleeves measure 155 × 45 mm and are compatible with many Size 1, Size 1.5 and Size 2 RVG sensors, subject to the external dimensions and cable design of the sensor. Each dispensing box contains 500 disposable sleeves for routine use in dental clinics, hospitals, diagnostic centres, endodontic practices, orthodontic practices and dental colleges.

Also known as: RVG sleeves, dental sensor sleeves, intraoral sensor covers, digital X-ray sensor covers, radiography sensor barriers, disposable sensor sheaths and RVG protective covers.

Key benefits

  • Disposable physical barrier: Helps reduce direct contamination of the sensor during intraoral imaging.
  • Transparent design: Keeps the sensor and orientation markers visible during insertion and positioning.
  • Elongated 155 mm format: Covers the sensor head and extends over part of the cable.
  • Multi-size compatibility: Designed for many Size 1, Size 1.5 and Size 2 RVG sensors.
  • Single-patient use: A fresh sleeve can be used for every patient and discarded after the procedure.
  • Clinic-value pack: The box contains 500 sleeves for regular radiography requirements.

Dental applications

These disposable intraoral sensor covers can be used whenever a compatible RVG sensor is positioned inside the mouth, including:

  • Intraoral periapical radiographs
  • Bitewing radiographs
  • Endodontic working-length and treatment radiographs
  • Restorative, periodontal and implant-assessment imaging
  • Routine diagnostic digital dental X-rays

The sleeve is a protective accessory only. It does not affect the clinical indication for an X-ray or replace appropriate radiographic technique, positioning devices or radiation-safety procedures.

How to use RVG sensor sleeves

  1. Choose a new sleeve for the patient and inspect it for tears, punctures or an incomplete seal.
  2. With clean hands or according to the clinic’s barrier-placement protocol, gently insert the RVG sensor into the sleeve.
  3. Ensure the complete sensor head is covered and that the sleeve extends over part of the sensor cable.
  4. Position the covered sensor directly or with a compatible RVG sensor holder. Make sure the holder does not puncture the sleeve.
  5. Capture the prescribed intraoral radiograph.
  6. After the procedure, remove the sleeve carefully without allowing the contaminated outside surface to contact the sensor.
  7. Discard the used sleeve according to the clinic’s applicable waste-management protocol. Do not reuse it.
  8. Inspect, clean and disinfect the RVG sensor according to its manufacturer’s instructions before the next patient.

Compatibility checklist

“Size 1,” “Size 1.5” and “Size 2” describe common sensor formats, but sensor housings and cable connections can differ between brands. Before ordering, compare your sensor’s maximum external dimensions with the sleeve size of 155 × 45 mm. Allow enough space to insert and remove the sensor without stretching, tearing or puncturing the sleeve.

Important infection-control information

  • Use one new sleeve for each patient and procedure.
  • Do not wash, disinfect, sterilize or reuse a disposable sleeve.
  • Do not use a sleeve that is torn, punctured or damaged during placement.
  • A sleeve helps provide a contamination barrier but does not replace inspection, cleaning and disinfection of the sensor.
  • Always follow the RVG sensor manufacturer’s reprocessing instructions and the dental clinic’s infection-control protocol.

Frequently asked questions

How many RVG sleeves are included?

Each dispensing box contains 500 individual disposable sensor sleeves.

Which RVG sensor sizes are compatible?

The 155 × 45 mm sleeves are suitable for many Size 1, Size 1.5 and Size 2 sensors. Because housings and cable exits vary, compare your sensor dimensions before purchase rather than relying only on the size number.

Are these sleeves reusable?

No. Use a fresh sleeve for each patient and discard it after the radiographic procedure.

Do these sleeves sterilize the RVG sensor?

No. They are disposable physical barriers, not sterilization pouches. The sensor must still be inspected, cleaned and disinfected according to the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.

Can the covered sensor be used with an RVG holder?

Yes, provided the holder is compatible with the sensor and can secure it without tearing or puncturing the sleeve.

What is included in the box?

The box contains 500 RVG sensor sleeves. The RVG sensor, sensor holder, X-ray equipment and disinfectant are not included.
