Gold Cura Hard Dental Vacuum Forming Sheets, 1 mm are transparent, rigid thermoforming blanks for dentists, orthodontic practices and dental laboratories. The hard 1 mm format may be selected for clear orthodontic retainers, aligner-type appliances and thin rigid dental splints when the prescribed appliance design calls for this thickness. The clear material helps the operator inspect adaptation to the dental model and trimming margins. Each pack contains 20 sheets.
Also known as: hard dental thermoforming sheets, dental retainer sheets, clear aligner sheets, rigid splint sheets, orthodontic forming foils and vacuum-former blanks.

Typical dental applications
When specified by the treating professional and supported by the laboratory protocol, a hard 1 mm sheet may be selected for:
- Clear orthodontic retention splints or retainers
- Aligner-type or correction appliances
- Thin rigid stabilization splints
- Other custom rigid appliances formed over a dental model where a 1 mm sheet is prescribed
These sheets are professional fabrication material, not finished or preformed dental appliances. Any retainer, splint or aligner-type appliance must be professionally designed, formed, trimmed, finished and checked before clinical delivery.
Why choose the hard 1 mm format?
- Rigid 1 mm profile: Provides more thickness than the hard 0.8 mm option for workflows that specifically require a 1 mm rigid sheet.
- Transparent appearance: Helps visual inspection of model adaptation, margins and finishing.
- Twenty-sheet pack: Supports routine clinic and laboratory fabrication while making the supplied quantity clear.
- Clear product identification: Hardness, thickness and pack count are stated separately to reduce ordering errors.
How to use dental vacuum forming sheets
- Select the prescribed hard or soft sheet and thickness for the intended appliance.
- Prepare a clean, dry dental cast and block out undercuts where the fabrication protocol requires it.
- Secure one sheet in a compatible dental vacuum-forming or thermoforming machine.
- Heat only according to the machine and material instructions; heating time and temperature are not universal.
- Form the softened sheet over the model using the machine's vacuum cycle.
- Allow the formed sheet to cool fully before removing it from the cast.
- Trim, contour and smooth the appliance edges, then verify fit before clinical delivery.
Choose the right Gold Cura dental forming sheet

| Soft 1 mm | Bleaching trays, fluoride trays and selected flexible appliances | 20 sheets |

| Soft 1.5 mm | Flexible splints, protective trays and selected transfer trays | 15 sheets |
This comparison is a selection guide, not a substitute for the appliance prescription or the thermoforming machine and material instructions. Final suitability depends on the case, appliance design and professional technique.

Frequently asked questions
Are these sheets hard or soft?
They are hard, rigid 1 mm thermoforming sheets. For flexible bleaching or fluoride trays, select the separate Soft 1 mm product instead.
Are these finished dental appliances?
No. They are thermoforming blanks used to fabricate a custom appliance on a dental model. Forming, trimming, finishing and fit verification must be completed by an appropriately trained dental professional or laboratory technician.
Can a formed sheet be reused?
No. Each blank is intended for one fabrication cycle; a sheet that has already been formed should not be reheated for another patient appliance.
Will these sheets fit every vacuum-forming machine?
Machine frames and accepted sheet formats vary. Check your machine specifications and the product images, or contact Gold Cura before ordering if compatibility is uncertain.
Do all dental appliances use the same hardness and thickness?
No. Hardness and thickness affect rigidity, flexibility and appliance performance. Select them according to the prescribed appliance design and validated laboratory protocol.
